Momentum, Connection, and What’s Next
Dear SMPS Tampa Bay Members,
Spring is bringing incredible energy to our chapter, and it’s exciting to see so many of you showing up, engaging, and continuing to invest in your growth. Every event, every conversation, and every new connection reinforces what makes this chapter so strong.
Our focus remains clear: Learn More. Win More. With SMPS. And the programs ahead are designed to do exactly that.
On April 22, we’re hosting “Real Talk: So You Won… Now What?”, a timely and practical discussion for marketers and business developers navigating what comes after the pursuit. Winning work is only the beginning, and this program will dive into how to successfully transition from proposal to project execution while strengthening client relationships along the way.
We’re excited to hear from:
• Sherri Swanson, PWS, GTA I, Ecological & Marine Resources Division Manager, Manatee County
• Arash Kamangar, AIA, ACHA, Associate Principal, Hunton Brady Architects
Both speakers bring real-world perspective from the owner and design side, offering valuable insight into what clients expect after the award and how firms can deliver beyond expectations.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available for firms looking to align with this important conversation.
The momentum continues on May 7th with our 16th Annual SMPS & AIA Tampa Bay Healthcare Event, one of our most anticipated programs of the year. This year’s theme, “Aging Forward: Healthcare Design in an Era of Generational Change,” will explore how evolving demographics are reshaping the way healthcare environments are planned, designed, and delivered.
We’re proud to announce our first confirmed panelists:
• Dave Kistel, Vice President & Chief Facilities Executive, Lee Health
• Arnulfo Castillo, Senior Director of Planning & Design, Orlando Health
Additional speakers will be announced soon, and I encourage you to follow SMPS Tampa Bay on LinkedIn to stay up to date as the full program takes shape. Sponsorships are also available for firms that want to be part of this high-impact event and connect with leaders across the healthcare sector.
Beyond our programs, we’re continuing to find ways to give back to the community that supports us. On the morning of April 21st, we’ll be hosting our Habitat for Humanity Giveback Social, and we’re looking for volunteers to join us. This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow members while making a meaningful impact in our community.
Thank you for being part of this chapter and for the energy, commitment, and professionalism you bring to everything we do. I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event and continuing to build on the momentum we’ve created together.
See you soon!
Jonathan Santiago
President, SMPS Tampa Bay (2025–2026)
