Dear SMPS Tampa Bay Members,

Spring has officially sprung, and with it comes a fresh wave of opportunities to connect, learn, and grow with one another! Your energy, engagement, and dedication continue to fuel the momentum of our chapter - and March was a perfect example of what we can accomplish together. From thought-inspiring programs to vibrant networking opportunities, your participation helped create a dynamic start to the year.

Now, let’s carry that momentum into April! We’ve got exciting events ahead designed to support your professional development, develop new relationships, and celebrate the amazing community we’re building together.

Thank you for continuing to show up, support each other, and elevate our industry. Looking forward to the growth and connections ahead this month!

March Highlights: Building Connections & Elevating Expertise:

March 26th SMPS Tampa Bay’s Annual Transportation Program

Our Annual Transportation Program at the Tampa Airport Marriott brought together over 90 marketers, industry leaders, and professionals for an afternoon of insight, collaboration, and connection.

This year’s event featured an engaging panel discussion focused on the future of aviation and regional transportation, offering attendees a rare look at the priorities, challenges, and opportunities facing our local airports and military base. From infrastructure improvements to long-term planning, the conversation was both informative and inspiring.

We extend our sincere thanks to our outstanding panelists:

  • Jeff Siddle, Vice President of Planning and Development, Tampa International Airport
  • Mark Sprague, Deputy Director of Operations and Facilities, St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport
  • Rich Lesniak, Airport Manager, Albert Whitted Airport
  • Tony Rodriguez, Community Planner, MacDill Air Force Base

And a special thank you to our moderator, Ian Anderson, Market President and Publisher of the Tampa Bay Business Journal, for leading the discussion with thoughtful questions and industry insight.

We also want to give a heartfelt thank you to Katie Batill-Bigler and the SMPS Tampa Bay Programs Committee for their leadership and hard work in organizing such a successful event. Your dedication continues to raise the bar and bring incredible value to our members.

The afternoon highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration and reminded us of the vital role these transportation hubs play in the economic growth of our region.

Thank you to everyone who attended - we hope you left inspired and informed. If you missed it, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming programs!
