Dear SMPS Tampa Bay Members,
October is here, and our chapter continues to move with purpose. Before I get to what is ahead, I want to start with a quick note...
Welcome, and Thank You
To everyone who renewed and to everyone who joined for the first time during our recent membership drive: thank you. Because you signed up before October 1st, your membership now runs through December 31, 2027. That is more than a year of programs, connections, and professional development, and we are glad to have you with us. If you are new, please introduce yourself at an upcoming event. Our members are friendly, and you will find people eager to meet you.
October 22: Marketing Boot Camp, AEC Communications Edition
This month, we are bringing back Marketing Boot Camp with a focus on communications. Join us on October 22 at the Center for Architecture & Design in Tampa for a full day built for entry-level marketers, communications coordinators, and anyone who wants a stronger foundation in AEC communications.
You will leave with practical tools for strategic communications, building a sustainable social media system when your team is small, and using design and AI responsibly in your everyday work. Our presenters are Kaitlyn Perez, Noel Russell, and Morgan Rola, with Amanda Hamende moderating the morning panel. If you have an emerging marketer on your team, this is the program to send them to. Registration is open on our chapter website.
Finishing 2026 Strong
We also have our Coffee and Connections happening in Tampa, St. Pete, and, once again, in Sarasota coming up next week on Thursday, October 15th! These free get togethers are a fantastic opportunity to expand your network and learn from peers and other members in the industry.
At the end of October, we will be having our next in-person board meeting, so please stay tuned for that announcement.
Our team is also hard at work planning member events for both November and December, so make sure to follow us on LinkedIn and Instagram for those announcements, too!
Planning for a Strong Beginning to 2027
Our incoming President, Jenn Collins, and her team have planning meetings coming up, and I could not be more excited about what they are building. The groundwork we have laid this year gives the next board a strong place to start, and we cannot wait to kick off 2027 in the best way possible.
